Convoys
Chenobyl 2000 have been running
aid convoys since 1998 and so far have taken 15 convoys with over 300 tonnes of
aid to the children and communities of Belarus.
Each Chernobyl 2000 convoy consists
of the drivers who take their holidays to make the 4000 mile round trip and also
the people who take the journey to help offload the aid at the final destination.
Everyone involved in the convoy pays for their own travel expenses.
Due to the relationship developed
between Chernobyl 2000 and the Belarusian government, they receive special dispensation
to deliver every item donated directly to the people who need it.
Running our convoys is obviously
a huge expense with each vehicle costing in the region of £2500, we need every penny.
